Canva is quite possibly the online tool you never knew existed, that you soon may not be able to live without. Brand identity is crucial to the success of your business, especially if you’re a small, start-up enterprise. Creating logos, posters and social media posts amongst other branding tools are just some of the tools Canva offer to users, free of charge. Below are five things you didn’t know about Canva.
1. Make your own presentations to help take your business to the next level
The beauty of Canva is its simplicity. Once you’ve signed in, which can be done easily through Google, Facebook and email etc, you have access to the plenty of tools Canva has on offer. These include creating presentations, similarly to Microsoft PowerPoint, but arguably much easier and with more freedom. Search for Presentations and you’ll see the page below, with a range of templates on offer with various functions suited to your business needs.

Below are five things you didn’t know about Canva, so if you’re curious to know what they have to offer then this is the place for you!
Choose a template and from there you really get a feel for the presentation tool Canva provides. Select from various photo, video, music and text options, as well as other formatting styles to suit your branding. It’s a fresh, vibrant and a freer method of creating the perfect presentation for your business. Why not give it a go?
2. Get prints directly from Canva
Not only does Canva provide the perfect platform for creating various branding designs, but they also provide an excellent delivery service. Get your high-quality prints delivered directly to your door, that not only look as good as they do on screen, but maybe even better! Designs can be printed and delivered within four days, along with a tracking service and 24/7 support, so you can follow the full delivery process of your prints.
3. Add your own brand colours
Canva also aid in the branding of your own business. Brand colours are key to your business, such as Coca-Cola for example, so it’s important to make sure you use the right colour to signal the message you want to get across. If this is something you’re perhaps unsure about, Canva run blogs alongside their digital tools to help you in this department. Canva provide ready-made templates with certain colours that align with your message to assist with your branding. As well as this, they have a colour palette tool, which allows you to experiment more to find the colour to suit your brand.
4. Add stock images
As mentioned earlier, Canva provide millions of stock images that you can use free of charge to enhance your branding. You can see this below with this blank poster example I have used. Simply click on ‘Photos’ on the left-hand side bar, and you will see the tab open up. From there you have a search bar, along with themes and other stock images below, to help you find just the images you want to help create the perfect piece of branding. You also have the option to upload your own images, through the upload tab towards the bottom of the bar on the left.
5. Auto resize your design to other dimensions
Finally, another brilliant tool Canva use which only further increases its appeal as a design tool is its auto resize function. Other design tools can become hassle when working on designs in a certain dimension, which may need changing further down the line. You may have to do the work all over again, or it won’t fit perfectly in other dimensions. This isn’t the case with Canva. When working on a design that needs resizing to other dimensions, simply click the ‘Resize’ button in the light blue bar at the top of the screen, choose the dimensions you need and let it do the work for you. It is worth nothing though, however, that this is a feature of Canva Pro.
